(More customer reviews)I've had my 32ohm DT900's for a week now, and I can't say that I have a single complaint about them.I'm an audiophile, and love good, LOUD, but very clean sound for my music.I listen to everything from death metal to hip hop to airy ambient music, and these headphones handle everything with grace and clarity!I strictly use them with portable devices (iPod & iPad) for listening to music in bed or at my desk while at work, so I can't comment on how well they work with an amp.

I've gone through MANY headphones in my time (Sony, Sennheiser, Grado, Panasonic, Denon and so on), and these are by far my favorite.They are larger and more bulky to lug around than most headphones I've used in the past for portable applications, but that's a small sacrifice to make for the superb listening experience!You'll also find that after a few minutes with them on, you won't even know there are there anymore, despite their weight and size.The open design and very soft fabric is also a huge plus for me as I tend to run a little hot.So even with these on all day, I never sweat or heat up more then I would without them on.This is very much unlike other headphones which hold heat or cause me to sweat excessivly around the ears because the pads don't "breathe" well.They also fit completely around the ear, so there is no "pinch" fatigue on the tips of my ears that I get with other smaller cup designs.

I have a friend that has the DT880 250ohm model, and after extensive comparison using the same audio source (iPod), I definitely prefer the slightly better bass response from the 990s.It's not a dramatic difference, but it's enough for me to notice and makes the 990s just that much more appealing for my tastes.As for the mids and highs, I really couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase, and looking forward to many years of listening enjoyment.
