These are the high-end version of Milian's isolation headphone line.

The headphones are based on the Bilsom Leightning L3 earmuffs. These earmuffs have the highest noise reduction rating (NRR of 30, 33dB) that I have seen. The Milian SVT headphones are very comfortable, but I have come across a few more comfortable earmuffs at the expense of a lower NRR (24-27).
Milian Acoustics then takes their bits and pieces including a mahogany sound chamber, titanium driver, etc. and turns them into a very nice pair of headphones. They do all this in the USA.

Because these are isolation headphones, the sound quality was a little different than what I am used to. I use Grado's RS-2 for home use which are about as opposite as can be with a completely open sound chamber. To state the obvious, the music from the SVT headphones sounds muffled. There is foam inside the the chamber as well as a nice red velvet lining between your ear and the speaker. I don't know if one can create a headphone with NRR=30 and also have an open sound stage.

I definitely recommend these if you are looking for a good sounding pair of headphones that obliterate any and all noises around you into a nice and peaceful quiet with the addition of high quality music.
