(More customer reviews)Be aware that there are two models, omnidirectional and cardioid. The cardioid is not very good at recording ambient sound and is best used for interviews.
This is an expensive mic probably best suited for NPR reporters--it does away with the over-the-shoulder tape recorder and the annoying wire to a separate mic. But for general consumer purposes--music, narrative, video audio tracks--there are many cheaper specialized solutions.
