(More customer reviews)Wow, I have been waiting literally years for a quality set of wireless headphones. I listened to many including the previous generation of Sennheiser's. All of them had some low level of hiss and less than audiophile sound quality. The wait is over. These cans utilize Kleer technology and an open design. I always preferred open headphones for the more natural bass response and to my 50 year old ears these sound great. The headphones are comfortable though I would like a bit more padding spanning the entire headband. The buttons on the headphones that control power, volume and balance (handy if you have asymmetrical hearing deficits) are too small and flat but I can now control the volume without removing the headphones. The range is listed as being up to 100 meters and practically speaking, as I can walk on either floor of my house and even outside in my yard without any noticeable effect. Every 30-40 minutes I may get a brief 1 second or so loss of sound but it is infrequent enough to not bother me. Expensive and surely not equivalent sound to an equally or more expensive pair of cans but they are very close in terms of sound and the wireless performance makes them the real deal, totally worth it.

(More customer reviews)The JVC Noise Canceling Ear Phones were a good buy, they allowed some seclusion from the banter of fellow coworkers, but the noise reduction circuitry wasn't able to cope with the cackling of one cowoker that drove me to purchase these in the first place.

Regardless, I'd purchased the headphones on the recommendation of Consumer Reports, and they performed quite well (per their review) against competitor's models (i.e., Bose) that cost hundreds more.

I'll use them on our next airline trip, as their true intent is to drown-out the sound of the air/engines from an aircraft, or from other sources of low-volume, continuous noise.

If asked whether I'd purchase them again, I'd say (Yes), especially given the cost of the competitors and their respective noise-cancellation abilities (as compared in CR).

I paid a bit more for these 3 years ago, they last a long time.The foam pads fell off after two years of regular use, but I had spares from a old pair.These 'phones are made to last and unlike some of those other funky headphones they are comfortable to wear, I wear them for hours at my PC while writing papers/ doing hw. Highly recommended, even for those who like good sound.These deliver rich base, and are good for mp3 listening as well as dvd watching. In fact, for the price I just might buy a spare. A plus side with this is if you are hard on stuff or simply like to carry headphones in your backpack you don't have to worry about them--the price is so low.I hope this helps. What are you waiting for? Buy some headphones.These headphones fit into anyone's budget.

(More customer reviews)My wife and I are 78 years old and enjoy movies. We can understand news anchors and commercials on TV with no problem. However, in the movies when they are whispering sweet nothings to each other or talking when facing away from the camera we cannot understand what they are saying no matter how loud we turn up the volume. With these headphones we can understand every word and still keep the volume down. It was a good investment for us.
One word of warning. While the ad says it is add-on headphone for RS-140 you should understand that it is not a RS-140. it is actually a HDR 140. This is just a second pair of earphones. To make it work you must first own the true RS-140 which includes the transmitter and charger.
