(More customer reviews)I was very excited to find these.I couldn't believe the price.Installation, however, was not easy.I had to get them professionally installed, which cost another $120.Volume control and video output on one unit did not work and this wasn't realized until already installed.Thankfully, the installer was able to remedy this.Video game quality is poor, but okay for smaller kids.Movie quality is great!Wireless headsets have mild interference.Just remember you get what you pay for!

(More customer reviews)The DVD players are sturdy and offer dozens of functions not found on OEM systems.The guts of the DVD players are clearly marked Sony.The tan head rests are well constructed and they match the leather in our Navigator. They play DVD-Rs and Video CDs with no issues.Movies can also be watched from a thumb drive or an SD card in several different digital formats.Some MP4s will play, others won't. The head phones have two channels and work perfectly with either DVD player.Video quality is surprisingly good, especially after changing the default setting of PAL to NTSC.Basic functions are on the front of the DVD player, but advanced functions require you use the remote control.The 32 BIT games are for children over 10.The 8 BIT games (optional) are old 1970-1980s arcade favorites and the younger kids love them.

Installation was easy taking about 90 minutes to do a professional level job.The pre-installed Power and Video/Audio-Out line runs down one post of the head rest while the Video/Audio-In line runs down the other post.The cables dropped through the back of the seat and were easily routed down the side of the seat and beneath the center console (comepletely out of sight).I removed the back panel of the center console where I connected the Video/Audio cables and tapped off of a cigarette lighter power cable for the 12VDC.The cables are very long giving you all kinds of cable routing options.End result was an OEM style DVD system that costs $1000 less.

(More customer reviews)I have had Clarion car audio in the past, but have never owned or seen the Clarion overhead DVD players/monitor.

In the beginning I researched overhead DVD players/monitors ranging from, Jenson, Audiovox, Insignia, and Clarion.The Jenson, Audiovox, and Insignia all looked and felt very cheap. I had also read reviews that many of the Audiovox players would break or just stop working after a few weeks. The picture quality of Jenson, Audiovox, Insignia just did not compare to the Clarion. Due to this and the reviews I have seen on the other 3 players led to my decision to purchase the Clarion.

I picked up my Clarion OHM875VD for $499 @ Frys electronics.The installers did an excellant job installing the DVD player into my Crew Cab Silverado.I do recommend purchasing the additional hardwired FM Modulator. This will allow the DVD players sound to be directly heard through your car/truck radio speakers and is close to CD sound quality. Much better than using a cheap wireless FM modulator. Overall with installation, the FM modulator, and DVD player ended up costing me around $570.

(More customer reviews)This is an awesome product for the price. I recently saw similar product for less at Sam's club, so you may want to check that out. Otherwise, this was $120 less than Walmart and has additional feature of watching two different discs at the same time (majority of products on the market have one DVD player and one 'dummy' monitor - that would be a disaster for my kids as they are about 6 yrs apart in age and don't want to watch the same movies). Picture is great, product is easy to operate and install. The only problem we had with it is that IR headsets are of really poor quality, so we are using regular, wired ones. The other thing is that we don't like is that the headrests are not adjustable.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice player.The discs play well and the screen is great. However the sound is the real problem.The only way to connect it to the cars sound system is via the FM transmitter.This unit will only transmit on one frequency 88.1, so if you are in an area that has a station on that frequency then you can't use the cars stereo for the sound. There is no audio output to hardwire it to the system.This has been a huge frustration for us, I would not recommend installing it.

(More customer reviews)We bought this player 3 years ago for a trip to Hawaii, and it has become indispensable.The picture is clear, the sound is good, the hook-ups are easy to use if you want to use it with another device, and most of all -- it is incredibly durable.My kids have dropped it, gotten food and sand into it, and carted it with them on nearly every trip our family has made--and it still works well!There are not many electronic devices that you can give to a four year old to use without worrying about its survival, but this has proved to be one of them.After years of continuous use, we are replacing it because the screen support finally gave out and it has to be propped open, but even so the player still works.The carrying case is very handy and has plenty of room.The DVDs do sometimes make a grinding noise when loading, but it doesn't affect the operation of the player.Very good product!
