As with most church sound situations. We have endured excessively
loud stage monitors for as many years I can recall. Our sound man has done an exceptional but almost futile job of trying to find a balance balance between FOH and stage volume.Hear Technologies
has been a the perfect solution to this problem. All of our musicains get the mix they want (more me) and everyone is satisfied. The FOH mix is not muddied by the stage volume. Its a win-win situation. It would be a deal at twice the price.

The Hear Back Hub can accept analog input signals from audio mixers, auxiliary, matrix, monitor, and/or direct outputs. The ADAT input can come from digital audio workstations, digital recorders, or digital mixers. For front of house or remotely located digital mixers, we also have the Extreme Extender ADAT In/Out that converts ADAT optical, which has very limited distance, to the HearBus for transmission of up to 500 feet.

Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro Earphones Gun Metal Blue Review

Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro Earphones Gun Metal Blue

These are amazing earphones or In-Ear Monitors (IEM's) as they are also known.I have owned and listened to many many types of headphones and earphones.

Out of the top end IEM's I've listened to or owned (comparing to Etymotic ER-4S, Shure E500, etc.) The Triple.fi 10 Pro earns the top spot and is most used in my portable stable of headphones/earphones.

Having incredible detail, a very large and wide soundstage, the Triple.fi's deliver all of these sonic goodness without losing one part that is often lacking or done so poorly with headphones in general.

Bass.

The Triple.fi's have a powerful bass output, but without sounding overly muddy and boomy. The treble is also very extended, and offer all the "sparkle" and "sizzle" with incredible nuance and detail. Some may find the treble too "bright" and harsh with lesser sources, but I listen to FLAC files.

Comfort can be an issue to some, but it is always a personal choice.I wear glasses and like the memory wire part near the earpiece that can be molded to go over the ear without getting in the way. Also, the silicone rubber earpieces are very comfortable and maintain an excellent seal with my ears.

If you are looking for top of the line, the Triple.fi 10 Pro's should be at the top of your shopping list.

In-ear headphones, dual-balanced armature drivers, 3.5 mm connector, S/M/L earpieces Review

In-ear headphones, dual-balanced armature drivers, 3.5 mm connector, S/M/L earpieces
Average Reviews:

Believe it or not, for what these cost they are an incredible value for money. I've had my hands on dozens of high-priced in-ear earphones and have kept these over each one they have come up against. First off there is the buildquality, which is absolutely flawless. The hard plastic shells feature titanium faceplates and integrated strain reliefs which protect the thick and soft internally-braided cables. I have put my set through many months of gym use and a year or so of regular everyday use before that and there isn't a mark on them. To make them more exercise-friendly, the cables carry the least cable contact noise (microphonics) of any in-ear that I've tried. They also fit very snugly into my ears, though I will admit that stock tips are rubbish and recommend Sony Hybrid earcushions (EP-EX10A) as a replacement.

In terms of sound quality, these are definitely not for bassheads. Only lovers of clean and analytical sound need apply. Their response curve is astonishingly flat all the way down to 20Hz, with tight and accurate bass that reveals nuances you may not have previously heard at the expense of a tiny bit of dynamic range. At the top end they have sparkly, accented treble which borders on being bright. Clarity, detail, and instrumental separation are all on par with, if not better than, the popular $300+ in-ears out there.

For the people who are content with $20 earphones that act as nothing more than bass cannons, these are not recommended. For the music lover in search of the most detailed sound money can buy, these warrant being right near the top of the list as a total package.

Shure SE110 Sound Isolating Earphone with Balanced Armiture Driver, White Review

Shure SE110 Sound Isolating Earphone with Balanced Armiture Driver, White
Average Reviews:

I have had a pair of Shure E2C earphones for nearly three years and I absolutely love them: perfect fit, great sound. I finally had to look for another set because the wire jacket began to crack and got progressively worse to the point where the wire is now fully exposed and starting to unravel. Since they are past their warranty, Shure wanted $60 plus shipping to repair them, so I decided to look around and try one of their newer models. I found these SE110's for $49.95 on clearance (regular $119.99, I paid $99 for the E2C's), so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I was mistaken. While the sound quality is better than you will find on any other $50 earphones, it is definitely not worth $120, and not nearly as good as the E2C's; and the design has changed for the worse also. My E2C's fit perfectly and comfortably in my ears using the medium size Flex sleeves, forming a great sound-isolating seal. The SE110's have a slightly different shape, and I have tried all of the included Flex and Black Foam sleeves and cannot get a comparable fit. I am now thinking I should have just spent the money to have my E2C's repaired. I never thought a Shure product which was supposed to be a newer model of my current product could be so much worse.

I bought these for $120 and was not thrilled - I'm an electronica producer so I may be biased but do have an appreciation for accuracy. These have little to no bass and were tiresome to my ears in both fit and fatigue due to sharpness of highs and midrange.Oh yeah, I burned them in - must have had over seventy hours on them before my cats chewed them up (those bastards)... But I bought a pair of the Sennheiser CX300's and now feel the cats did me a favor.Much more comfortable, priced at a third of these and have excellent bass response with smooth highs... it's all subjective when it comes to earphones but this was my experience.

Denon AHC751K In-ear Headphones (Black) Review

Denon AHC751K In-ear Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
From sites such as [...], I wanted to note that these are apparently the same IEMs as the well-reviewed Denon C700, with some accessories (extension headphone cord, case) included.I would suggest reading reviews for the Denon C700 here and on headfi to aid in your decision.

At the current time the C751s with included accessories are selling for less than the C700, so check the prices for both and choose accordingly.

I will add further details on my impressions on this model (compared to my current Senn CX300) after I have had some more time to evaluate them.

*** Update 04/29/07 - THIRD time trying to update this review, not clear why Amazon keeps ignoring my updates ....

Now that I've had a chance to try the Denon C751 headphones for an extended period, I have to say that I am quite happy with them and recommend them highly for those who prefer the sound signature they provide (see details below).

Build quality - excellent. The phones themselves are made of machined aluminum and appear relatively sturdy for their light weight. The cord is also more substantial than that on some portable headphones I have seen. The cord itself is a "Y" configuration (left and right the same length). The cord is only about 20" long but is supplied with a 35" extension cord (this differs from the C700 which had a longer "main" cord but no extension).I personally like this setup, but of course YMMV.

Sound - First off, THESE MUST HAVE A LONG BURN-IN PERIOD before they reach their potential. On first listen the midrange and lower treble is very forward to the point of being harsh, esp. on material that has a lot of midrange to begin with. After 20 hours or so of burn-in the midrange and lower treble softened up quite a bit.

If fitted properly (this is essential for any IEM), the bass is deep but tight (no boom-boom like my previous pair of Sennheiser CX300s); devoted "bass heads" may want to look elsewhere, however. The midrange and lower treble is still forward but quite listenable, and does an excellent job with vocals. And though my ears are getting a bit old to hear upper treble frequencies, I don't hear anything objectionable in these headphones. These remind me a bit of my Senn HD-595s, though the Denons are still bit more forward-sounding.

Fit - OK at best with the stock plugs.I had a bit of difficulty getting a good seal with any of the stock Denon plugs. This problem was solved by replacing the plugs with those from my old Senn CX300s.Other people (on [...]) suggest Sony or Comply plugs.

Other stuff - The C751 comes with a small zippered case if you case about such things.Microphonics (hearing your footsteps or breathing while wearing IEMs) is present but less noticeable than on my previous CX300s.Due to the ported / open design of the Denons, isolation is not as complete as for other IEMs; someone sitting next to you in a very quiet room *may* be able to hear what you are listening to, and some outside sounds will be evident.

Conclusion - highly recommended.I'm sticking with fours stars due to the burn-in requirement, forward sound that may not appeal to all, mediocre plugs provided.

Monster Turbine Mobile High Performance In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk Review

Monster Turbine Mobile High Performance In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk

These headphones sound fantastic! I took a chance on these because there were no pictures other than the standard Turbine pic available at the time. I have owned several headphones by Monster including the Beats Tour with and without ControlTalk, Beats Solo, and Monster Turbines w/o ControlTalk. The Turbines with ControlTalk are by far the best sounding and performing Monster headphones that I have owned to date. The box indicates that these have a "right angle connector" which I have found to be a hassle since I use these with an IPhone 4 and the 3.5mm jack is on the top.Luckily the box was mis-labeled and these headphones have the straight plug. The only thing that I would like to see added to the package is the "Super Tips" in addition to the silicone ones included in the standard set.Overall these are a great set of headphones and I recommend them highly!!

Denon AH-NC600 Advanced Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones

Made of cheap and thin plastic. On/Off button is so loose that it rattles. Battery compartment door really difficult to open. It's so flimsy and ill-fitting that I almost broke it trying to open it for the first time. Tried noise cancelling effect on a turbo-prop plane, on a normal jet plane, and on the train. There is some minimal noise reduction but it comes at a price: The noise gets replaced by a powerful hissing that sounds as though you suddenly switch from your MP3 player to a radio with bad reception. I don't expect the stunning noise cancelling effect that my Bose QC3 has -- but still: Absoultely disappointing. Not worth the money at one thenth of the price. Would have given 0 starts if possible.

Phiaton PS 200 Sound Isolating In-Ear Earphones with Dual Micro Transducers

I picked these up at a good price. I had been interested in this set for a while, based on mixed reviews. I am happy to say, that while not bass heavy, they offer superb imaging and instrument seperation. No shrill highs, and stellar build.
The comfort is really good as well. I like these for trance, the erry sence of space and lightning quick attack, make it very easy to get lost in the mix. Save for those that want a bassy thump all the time. I feel they would please most people.
They are very easy to listen to for hours. Isolation is ok, not the best. But al in all, the newer iem's coming out at lower price ranges, are quickly closing the gap on much more expensive ones. These are great all rounders, and should your budget be in this price range, they are worth a serious look.

Sennheiser IE7 High Fidelity Sound Earbuds with Noise Reduction Review

Sennheiser IE7 High Fidelity Sound Earbuds with Noise Reduction
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned many similarly priced headphones: Shure SE310, SCL2, Ultimate Ears 5 Pro, UE 5, Sleek Audio SA6,ATH-ESW9, EW9, EM9, EC700, B&O A8,. Not top of the line but still counts as mid-fi at least.

I'll just come out and say that for anything below $250 dollars, Sennheiser IE7 beats everything I've ever listened to. Ever. I say $250 because SE530 is just above that at $260, and TF10 is a little bit more than that, and because of their triple-BA design I can't really say the single-dynamic drivers of IE7 beats them.

In terms of packaging, design, durability, accessories, and mostly the sound quality, the IE7s are just tops. It is very easy to see the amount of care and effort put into these. Offering the most complicated, exciting, and revolutionary unboxing experience ever, it took me a good half an hour to savor the whole process. You get everything you can imagine, from shirt-clip, ear-loops, to 9 pairs of eartips including 3 pairs of : foam, single silicon, and bi-flange (Think there might be even more but too lazy to count). Cleaning tools, 6 copies of instruction manual (in 6 different languages), and a metallic carrying case that is compact, secure, yet can carry all the accessories included. There is a very pleasant surprise in the mechanics and design of the packaging/unboxing experience that I just cannot spoil.

Bad news with the included eartips, is that I did not like any of them. The foam tips for the IE7s, which are the most popular type of tips for IEM, suck. They are the exact same ones you get from a $12-pair of JVC airheads or whatever cheapo IEMs out there. Just terrible.

Good news is, UE5s come with 2 sets of same sized foam tips, and they fit perfectly on the IE7s. So I just used my spare pair. They fit comfortably.

The cable material, shape of the buds, connector, are all very nicely designed and made. Though it's only silver-plated instead of Gold. The cables are soft, yielding, yet feels very sturdy and durable. The shapes of the IEMs fit very nicely, contrary to what the sharp corner may suggest, they really won't poke your ears or anything.

Soundquality is, once again, top notch. It's amazing how large the soundstage is, yet the frequencies are very cleanly and clearly presented and layered. One gripe, though it may be a pro for most people, is that I find the bass too overwhelming at times. You really get the "BOOM BOOM" out of these buds, like from big cans. Of course, the air vent and large chambers of the earbuds contribute to that.

One would expect much subtle details in the music to be lost due to the thumping bass, especially in mid/high freq. Amazingly, compared to airier phones like SE310 and EW9, the IE7s have really good highs. I can hear more details in IE7 than any other phones I have, all thanks to the large soundstage, the great separation/layering/definition of each sound/instrument/frequency.

All in all, since the price has come down to about $160 for these, I'd say unless you want to get the triple-BA driver ones, like Westone3, SE530, TF10, etc, and spend about $300 bucks, the Senn IE7s are your best bet. For those of you who want specifically analytical/accurate/cold sound with absolutely no bass presentation, go for ER4s. But for everything else, for a flexible, enjoyable, involving listening experience, get the IE7s!

Background I own the Phillips SHE-8500 , Altec Lansing UHP336 (rebranded Ultimate Ears Super.F1 3) , Denon AH-C452K and now these Denon AH-C710k. Used a Cowon I7 mp3 player ripped at 320. Music types used for testing were funk, jazz,r&b,rock, and classical.

I burnt these in for 36 hours before putting then into my ears. They sound great. Maybe a little too great. Had to go back through and re-rip some of my music. There was clipping and these brought the imperfections to light. Now that I have the bad ones re-ripped the sound is really amazing. The fit is secure. The comply ear tips are great and will be ordering some spare comply tips from them.

Diddybeats Designer In-ear Headphones with ControlTalk (Black) Review

Diddybeats Designer In-ear Headphones with ControlTalk
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned many earbud-type headphones, but I believe I've finally found a pair that measure up to my strict expectations.

PROS:Outstanding sound, a plethora of earbud pieces (8 pairs), solid construction, ease of functionality, L-shaped/gold-plated plug

CONS:Pricey, has the name of a true PUNK on 'em!

The sound is indicative of the standard one would expect from Monster & Dr. Dre: crisp, clear, deep, rich!I previously owned the monster beats in-ear headphones - similar, but without the ControlTalk feature - and am happy to see Monster has improved on the plug and cord-split fittings.None of the available earbud pieces with the monster beats fit my ears very well, but with these, there are plenty: especially like the foamies. The overall construction - plug, cord, fittings, phones, etc. - are durable and should withstand plenty of wear-n-tear.The ControlTalk feature is especially nice; depending on your device, volume up/down, play/pause, answer calls, and advance track.NOTE:This feature does not work with BlackBerry Bold II 9700 for some reason.Monster beats in-ear headphones did not have an L-shaped plug, which made me weary of shorting over time, not to mention it just got in the way.

You get what you pay for, but the $150 pricetag will make most consumers look elsewhere; Monster could have dropped the price on these, especially since a similar Bose model runs between $80 and $90.Perhaps the one thing I had to overlook the most was the name.I was even chastised by the Best Buy sales clerk who assisted me because she thought I was a fan of Diddy... I'll be honest, I almost slapped her!

In all, I think anyone would be happy with these headphones. The sound - as I said - is outstanding, which was exactly what I was looking for.
