I bought this as a gift for my husband & it looked great just out of the box.Within 2 months,he had to tape the thing together with electrician's tape & one of the batteries had burned out. After 6 months, he'd given up on it all together when the remaining battery became too hot to wear near his ear.Our recommendation is - stay away!

Over-ear Headphone Wireless Bluetooth for Ipod Black Color Review

Over-ear Headphone Wireless Bluetooth for Ipod Black Color

So I do rope burn at the gym and these are perfect for the activity. The bluetooth allows me to skip to my heart's content without having cables tangled with my rope. I usually leave my iPod on the floor somewhere near by.

Sound quality wise, it is ok. The bass can be a tad stronger I find. Noise cancellation, it is ok, but maybe the gym I go to tend to blast music, so it does not really block out sounds from the environment.

What makes these headphones spectacular is the bluetooth. The range is pretty good in fact. I left my iPod in at the gym locker once, and it wasn't until I was about half way down the stairs that I realised I left my iPod upstairs. the distance was more than 30 feet I would say.

So, this is a pretty decent bluetooth headphones for what it does. Wireless. It is not design for an audiophile.

Bluetooth isn't just for cell phone headsets any more. The JBL 600 Series combines the sound quality of high-end headphones with the convenience of Bluetooth wireless technology. So now you can enjoy and control your music without wires - and without digging your iPod out of your backpack or briefcase. Bluetooth is about making things easier, and JBL is about making things sound better. Together, well, maybe "paradigm shift" is too strong, but you get the idea.

Sennheiser PXC 310 BT - Headphones - wireless - Bluetooth 2.1 EDR - active noise canceling

Headphones are a very nice pair with excellent sound. Overall balanced sound in bass, mids and highs. Connection to bluetooth is effortless. Used on laptop via a Sennheiser BD300USB and on LG Touch via bluetooth. All controls are accessible. Also used on Ipod Touch 3G. Controls did not work and Ipod bluetooth had static and wander when placed in pants pocket so I purchased Sennheiser BD300i transmitter for Ipods. This solved all problems with strong reception, full control and sound actually improved. The BD300i also gave me full controls from my Nokia BH905 bluetooth headphones. These phones are lighter and more portable than the Nokia 905s. Very good purchase. I do have to admit they are like many have said, a little tight. I have carefully bent them open more slightly, but after a couple of hours they begin to feel like a vise on your head.

Sennheiser MM 450 Bluetooth Multimedia Headset with Noise Cancellation (Black) Review

Sennheiser MM 450 Bluetooth Multimedia Headset with Noise Cancellation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am not sure where to start!

I own several Sennheiser products including the HD 580, HD 590, HD 600, HD 650, and PXC-450s.

Since I am using my smartphone (Nokia N900) more & more and it works well with bluetooth, I decided to try and replace my TWO year old Plantronics 590A.

The main reason for the purchase of the MM 450s was the "noise-canceling".

Well, after several days of use including in work areas with a lot of "voices" in the background, I have given up on the MM 450s. They sound great but the noise canceling doesn't work very well. I can hear other people's conversations quite clearly when I am in a phone conversation with noise-canceling on (I thought I had it off)!

The MM 450s have also disconnected from my Nokia N900 and Nokia N97 quite often (I have never had this problem with my Plantronics 590s which I currently use all day (+10 hours)).

IF the MM 450s were ~$250, I would keep them because of the great sound... but for $450, I want great sound + noise canceling.

So my set of MM 450s are going back to Amazon!

UPDATE 01/16/2010:

I replaced the MM 450's with my 2nd choice, the Nokia BH-905s! After several days of using them, I think they are almost as good as the MM 450's and the price was only $209.00 delivers (much better than the $450.00 for the MM 450s).

Comparison between both:

Sennheiser MM 450:
------------------
+ Fold up smaller for travel.
+ Sound is best I have heard for bluetooth.
- Price
+ Battery is user replaceable
- Case is CHEAP
- Battery life with noise canceling on was about 10 hours.

Nokia BH-905:
-------------
+ Price is around $200 if you shop around.
+ Case while not small is very good quality (headphones won't get crushed in a travel bag)
+ Battery with Bluetooth + Noise Canceling lasts around 18 hours in my couple of days use.
+ Controls are better laid out (easier to use) than the MM 450s.
- Battery is NOT user replaceable.

Both models:
------------
+ Both have top notch build quality
+ Both are very comfortable for long term use.
+ Noise canceling on both work when playing music.
- Noise canceling only so-so when in phone conversations (when there are periods of quietness). This is probably to be expected since both headsets are NOT over the ear.

In summary, my choice came down to price for what I got.

I am extremely happy with the Nokia BH-905s

Sennheiser MX W1 In-Ear Totally Wireless Headphone with Digital High-Fidelity Stereo Sound Review

Sennheiser MX W1 In-Ear Totally Wireless Headphone with Digital High-Fidelity Stereo Sound
Average Reviews:

These headphones sound fantastic! They produce a well balanced sound across a wide frequency. Bass, mid range and treble all sound excellent. I haven't heard any distortion. Kleer definitely produces a crisp, clear sound and the headphones allow you to hear an incredible level of detail. I would have thought these were wired if I tested these blindfolded. Operation is simple. Activate the headphones, then activate the transmitter and you have sound!

There's quite a bit of innovation in one package. The transmitter is very small. About half the size of a gum package. It comes with a rubber band to strap it to a MP3 player. If you are in a clear space, you can walk quite a distance away from the transmitter. I was able to get 40 feet away without the audio cutting out. If you walk around walls or corners, it may cut out but if you are directly across, above or below the transmitter, through a wall, it comes in perfectly clear.

Twist to fit works fairly nice and the headphones feel comfortable. You may have problems jostling them loose if you have any jarring movements like running, but seems to handle walking on a treadmill quite well.

The transmitter can last for 10 hours on a single charge, the manual says the headphones last for 3 hours but I have had them run for up to 5 hours. You can charge the headphones in the charging dock three times while on the go but charging the headphones alone can take around several hours, plus or minus, depending on how run down they are. Battery life and charge time is the only true downside aside from the early adopter price.

Pros: Sound amazing, remote charging, comfortable.
Cons: Battery life, cost.

This is one of the best ipod accessory purchases I've made. The sound quality is better than my ibuds that came with the ipod, and I love not having a wire connecting me to my ipod. The initial pairing to my ipod and palm treo 800 was very easy and it works well for the most part. The only fault I have noticed is the transitioning after completing a call the headset sometimes doesn't transition back to the ipod without me unplugging and replugging the transceiver back into the ipod. This doesn't happen all the time, but I have noticed this happen more than once and I've own this headset for only about a week-I'm not sure if this is the headset or if it is my dumb phone, probably the phone as I have had numerous problems with the treo 800w.The headphones are very comfortable and the remote on the headset works great. You can pause, play, search, skip all from the headset- no problems with that. The range on the headset is about 15 feet depending on where you're at and the amount of interference in the area. The battery life is something that I haven't tested, but the manual suggests that it is 16 hours, but I highly doubt that.Everyone will have you believe that their product runs for double what it is capable of-the people at apple would like you to believe their ipods video will play for 6 hours, but in actuality it will run 3 1/2 to 4 hours on a full charge. But, overall the headset is great.I'm trying to figure out if I can pair it to my computer, so I can talk on skype.I'll have to tinker with it some more.

Sony DRBT160iK Bluetooth Stereo Headset with iPod Adapter (Black) Review

Sony DRBT160iK Bluetooth Stereo Headset with iPod Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I like to have my ipod playing when I do errands or workout at the gym but I hate the wires on my headphones always getting in the way and catching on things. Through friends and different stores I tried SEVERAL various wireless solutions like the Jaybird, the Motorola, the Toshiba and even another different model of Sony because I didn't want to buy something only to find the sound quality or bluetooth function was weak. Then while browsing Amazon I came across the Sony DRBT160iK. At first I thought the headset design with the behind-the-ear pods were strange looking compared to other models and I wanted no part of them... but having no friends who owned them and not finding them in any stores, I decided to buy from Amazon anyway since there were few reviews at the time that were very good ones.

Well I received them and flat out I am truly blown away. It's kinda nice when something you are hoping will work out actually exceeds your expectations. Without any question whatsoever this set-up is by far the very best sounding wireless bluetooth ipod headphones I've heard...period. I absolutely love these and what's funny is they sound better than another wired headphone I've had on my ipod. If anyone is on the fence about these and are looking for a review to help, Im giving you an honest and discerning opinion...if you can get around the funky (but fairly comfortable) design, these are worth every penny (currently around $114 on Amazon).

The sound quality for a lightweight portable bluetooth stereo headphone is simply excellent. Suprisingly so. The transmitter/receiver uses one of the latest advanced bluetooth versions known as Bluetooth ver 2.1 + EDR (extended data rate)... I have no idea why Amazon doesn't indicate this as a product feature , it makes a huge difference. Even very complex and sonically detailed parts of music are crisp and defined and play without being muddled or distorted. (I'm sure it helps that I buy most of my music from Itunes or Amazon so it's encoded well from the start). The bass response is suprisingly good and continues to catch my attention even after four months. The highs and midrange are on the spot with the same very good detail and sound quality. Last night I played the entire Dark Knight soundtrack while doing chores and the deep dark bass notes of these dramatic tracks came through with flying colors and even a hint of true stereo imaging. Love them!!

Other cool things:

-Transmitter fits securely and snugly into your ipod and is very low-profile, about the size of a quarter (don't lose it!!!) It draws a tiny amount of power from your ipod so you never need to charge the transmitter, only the heaphones with the supplied charger.

-There is a micro joystick at the end of one of the earpods and after a couple of tries is easy to master. With this tiny joystick you can skip tracks forward, backward, pause, volume up, volume down as well as scan forward and scan backward with just the touch of your finger without every needing to touch your ipod, wherever you have it stowed. You can literally put your ipod in your waistpack, purse, dufflebag, pocket...anywhere within 15-25 feet of where you are and the sound is still excellent.

-Like I said they look different but they are fairly comfortable, snug, sturdy and very lightweight. If you run or bounce around alot with exercise or chores they will not come off and disrupt you from your sound. These are earbud type of headphones so they go inside your ear and the advantage of that outside of the high sound quality is that it will take out all background sound (like the bad music they play at the gym or the people who keep yapping at the treadmill next to you). I tried a different Sony model that just sat "on" your ear and these could not even come close to muting out these annoyances with high quality sound. If you are going to use them while biking I highly suggest you keep the volume down so you can hear other sounds around you. Safety first.

-It takes about 1.5 hours to charge these from empty and this will last you about 5 realistic hours. I get about three or four 90 minute workouts in without charging usually.

- This model will also let you do phone calls with your bluetooth phone / Iphone that will interrupt if a call comes in while listening to music. I don't use my phone in this way and have not tried this feature or paired it to anything but my Ipod Nano 5G and Ipod Touch so I can't report on the phone feature, but it's there.

Reviews helped me find this model and my strong suggestion to you if you are shopping for high quality bluetooth wireless solutions with high quality sound for your ipod is to simply get over the unusual look of these and buy them. Don't waste your time like I did. I'm one of the fussy types for great sound quality and these simply please me tremendously.

I was reluctant to buy these headphones with the high pricetag but loved the idea of utilizing the bluetooth capability of my ipaq. When I first took the headphones out of the package, I was immediately dissapointed with the reception. For the most part the audio signal was chopping with any sort of movement (walking, running, on the treadmill, ect..).Listening to the headphones at my desk was fine with minimal movement and the sound quality was better than my other headphones ($20 sony's).Before buying the headphones, I read a review online that warned against the faulty headband.I blew the review off, thinking that the user must have abused their set.To my dismay, my headband also broke several months after purchase. The bluetooth antenna is built into the headband and will not function well when the headband is broken.Overall, I would not recommend buying these headphonesuntil they fix the reception and headband issues.

RCA S2501 Jet Stream Series 1GB Sport MP3 Player with Wireless Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, even if there are a couple of issues. The sound is good, although when I use it at the gym, I need to have the volume all the way up in order to drown out the gym music.I think that's because the ear buds on the wireless headphones don't fit properly in my ears. They are a littl big.But outside of the gym, walking for example, I don't need the volume up nearly that high.

The largest fault I have with this product is the charger for the wireless headphones. They don't work all that well, in that the connection is touchy and it takes a few minutes for me to be sure they are charging and quite often the charge is not complete. I'm considering having the wireless charger replaced if possible...

The reception with the wireless headphones is good, although I've experienced some static when I have the unit in my pocket at the gym, and I am riding the recumbent bike. When I am lifting weights though, I experience no issues with reception with it in my pocket. And also when walking outside, there is perfect reception.

The battery life on the unit itself is fantastic.I can use it for three weeks without having to recharge it (using it only about an hour or two a day).

If you are a music fanatic, the storage is probably small for most people. For me it is perfect...I have about 200 songs on there plus two hour long podcasts.

My biggest frustration is the FF or RW function, which may be present on other MP3 players as well. If I am 30 minutes into a podcast for example and missed something, I need to be very careful how I rewind or it will go all the way back to the beginning and the only way I know to get it back to where I was is to just hold the Forward button down, which takes quite a while to FF back to the place where I was.

I don't have any experience with any other MP3 players, as this is my first one. But I wanted it for the wireless functionality and I am overall very happy with it's performance. Even with the issues I stated above, had I been able to try this before purchasing, I still would have purchased this unit.

Sharper Image 10X Wireless Headphones with Class 1 Bluetooth

Since Sharper Image filed for Chapter 11 they are selling these for about a $100 - which is a fair price, IMO. I bought one for evaluation, then came back another day to pick up a 2nd pair for my spouse. They are comfortable and perform well at long range as I walked all over the house while listening to music. The only con I found so far is that it seems to me that when two sets of these headphones are on at times they interfere w/each other (sound jitters - appears/disappears). It also has a built-in microphone which I have not tested out yet - definitely will cause I got PlayStation 3 which I paired them with no problem. Also, sometimes the base will not turn off when I press the power on/off button - seems like a little glitch. Overall, I think it's a very nice bluetooth stereo w/SRS and mic headphones.

Motorola S805 Bluetooth D.J. Style Stereo Headset Review

Motorola S805 Bluetooth D.J. Style Stereo Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These are now my 5th pair of bluetooth wireless headphones and I think I've finally found one that does just what I want: great sounding streaming music from my iPod and simultaneously make or take calls from my Blackberry.

In my typical fashion, let's begin with the good, move on to the bad and then finish with those things that need improvement.

GOOD

Excellent sound quality - Clear, clean and LOUD.What more can I say about it.This may seem obvious but apparently some people don't understand the many different profiles available with Bluetooth devices and which ones are necessary to get good sound quality from these headphones. In order to hear quality audio, your Bluetooth source must support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).Many of the USB dongle devices and quite a few built-in Bluetooth laptops (including MacBooks) and phones DON'T support this profile. How will know?First check the documentation to see if A2DP is listed as a supported profile. If not, try pairing with the headphones. If you hear tinny sounding music in mono, your device probably only supports the Headset and Handsfree (HPF) profiles. You'll need to find some other hardware or maybe a software upgrade.

Convenient - My S805s are paired with my iPod equipped with Wi-Gear's iMuffs MA110 Dock Adapter. This adapter is powered by the iPod and supports both the A2DP and Audio Video Remote Control (AVRCP) profiles allowing the headphone to control the volume, play/pause and next/prev track of the iPod while getting the great sound you expect. With no wires to get tangled or swing around when you move, these are great for workouts on the treadmill or elliptical.

Battery Life - Motorola claims that these fully charged headphones will operate in standby mode for up 30 days!I haven't had an opportunity to test this out and I not quite sure exactly what is "standby" mode, but I do know that the music play time is good for about a week of bus rides and occasional office use--about 15 hours. Not bad for the volume and quality.

Nice carrying case - the S805 comes with a durable semi-rigid zippered ballistic nylon case that holds the headphones with the earpieces folded flat at 2 inches thick. There's even a strap inside to conveniently hold the charger and the wired adapter cable.

Elegant Design - The headphones are very nice to look at once you get past the bulk (more on that next). They are symmetrically designed with a single button on each earpiece. One side controls the phone the other the music. The volume and track skip controls are ingeniously integrated into the rubber trim rings of each earpiece. Twist the left one forward or backward to change the volume or the right one to skip or repeat tracks.

BAD

Bulky - While the over-the-ear design is really effective at blocking outside noise, they are also very large and rather obvious.Especially with the blinking blue lights on the side. This attracts a lot of strange looks since you resemble a Borg.BTW, the blue lights can be turn off but I often forget since they default to "ON" after your recharge.

Cheap plastic parts - These definitely aren't your Bose QuietComforts. Most of the plastic pieces feel very cheap and appear as if they would easily break if dropped. The little rubber flap covering the charging and wired adapter ports is very flimsy and I don't expect it to last very long. The volume adjustment control dial and the track control dial have a lot of slop and wiggle room. I'd have to saythat the case is better made than the headphones.

Short Wired Adapter - The wired adapter cord is very short.Less than a meter long so you need to be very close to your wired device.

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

Scratchy Fabric on Headband - The fabric inside of the headband is same acoustic fabric as the inside of the earpieces.I often take these off and dangle them around my neck but the fabric is kind of irritating. A smooth fabric would be much more comfortable.

Earpiece Cushions - The soft vinyl earpieces aren't too uncomfortable, but the do make the area around my ears all sweaty, especially during a workout. They're also kind of tight so they don't slip off your head but the pressure begin to get uncomfortable after a while. But if don't like the headphones with eartips that go into your ears, these are minor issues.

Complicated Controls - Although two buttons make for elegant design, it also makes for a confusing array of functions that you must remember to control them.Press and hold for 6 seconds for pairing mode. Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn them off.Press, hold and wait for three blinks to turn off.Short press to answer a call, long press to reject a call or answer a call waiting or redial the last call (all depending on the current state). Yikes! That's a lot to remember.

JBL Ref 610 Over the Ear Wireless Headphone (Black) Review

JBL Ref 610 Over the Ear Wireless Headphone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased these direct from Harman Kardon. I was worried because I have tried several Bluetooth headphones such as Logitech and Jabra.. I returned them both... for reasons of sound quality, fit, and issues with static or dropped signals.

I've owned the JBL 610 (made by Harman Kardon FYI) for a week now. They are AWESOME! Here's why:

1. They are designed for use with iPod's (4th Gen) and they work very well as they come with the needed Bluetooth adaptor for your iPod.

2. Build quality is out standing. They feel sturdy and solid

3. These headphones are super comfortable as I ahve worn them for hours on end.

4. THIS IS HUGE... the controls on the JBL610's work flawlessly to not only navigate your iPod but they navigate Windows Media Player 11!!! I can skip songs, play pause and control volume all on the headphones without ever touching the computer.

5. These headphones have no static, no dropping out (I run a ton of wireless stuff including WiFi, and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse)

6. These head phones when used with the optional 3.5mm jack sound PHENOMENAL!!!Hi fidelity sound that's like having $1000 JBL's or Harman Kardon's strapped to your ears...(caution thesethings can play very loud)

7. If you want to use them without the Bluetooth feature you can use the included wired cable to connect them to ANY audio device with a 3.5MM jack. So they are versatile... this comes in super handy when the batteries run out.

8. Battery life is decent. I get about 16 hours out of them.

9. They paired easily with my HP DV5t laptop... though windows vista doesn't make it clear how to set them up, here is some help: Make Vista auto-switch between Bluetooth audio and your normal soundcard when the Bluetooth headphones are switched off Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage audio devices and Bluetooth audio is treated as two virtual soundcards with a single speaker output each - one for HSP and one for A2DP. If you can't see two Bluetooth 'soundcards' in the Playback tab, right-click and ensure that 'Show disabled devices' and 'Show disconnected devices' are both ticked. No sound will come out of your Bluetooth headphones until you set them as the default playback device even if they show as connected, so it's important to complete this step. Click the soundcard you want to use when your Bluetooth headset is disconnected and click Set Default then Apply. Then click Bluetooth Stereo Audio, Set Default and Apply again. Vista will handily remember the last default soundcard you chose, so that when your Bluetooth headset is disconnected, playback will automatically revert back to your normal soundcard. When your headset is reconnected, playback will automatically be redirected into it. This way, you don't have to keep changing the default playback device all the time. Bluetooth Stereo Audio and Bluetooth Hands-free Audio only appear in the Playback tab of this window when the headphones are connected. When you turn them off, the Bluetooth playback devices will disappear and the default will revert to your preferred soundcard. To get music to actually play via Bluetooth, you typically have to stop and restart the current track on your media player. In Winamp, pausing isn't good enough, you literally have to click Stop then Play to get the music to stream properly; this is because it will keep streaming into the normal default soundcard until it realizes the default has been changed. Some audio applications may require you to restart them altogether. (Source: http://www.djkaty.com/vista/bluetootha2dp vista has fixed much of the issues described in this article for new Bluetooth enabled PC's)

Now for the CONS:
1. Battery takes 3 hours to fully charge...

2. As I mentioned in Wireless sound qualitydoes not live up to the high fidelity that this brand of head phones demand... this isn't to fault them... as no Bluetooth headset can match Hi fidelity wired audio. (However, this is the only Bluetooth headphone I know of that can convert to using a wired 3.5mm jack.)

So far, the ear loops are stay on my head just fine.Range is about 25 feet or so.Sound quality is excellent - zero static.I have only had mine for a few days, so I cannot address how well they last, but the sound quality is great. It isn't quite what you will get from normal plug-in headphones, but it is more than good enough for general purpose use where you don't want to be tied down by a cord and if you are in any type of a noisy environment you are unluckly to notice the difference.

The only problem I have had so far is they aren't super comfortable. The cushions on them are very thin which would suffice for most headphone, but since they basically are held onto your head by squeezing your head, the pressure combined with the hardness underneath the cushions is uncomfortable.I've tried bending the body wire some to lessen the tension, but even as they approach feeling loose, the hardness of the earpieces is still evidenent through pressure on my ears.

Follow up:several months later, these just quit working. So, I have moved on to motorokr's.

Etymotic Research Ety8 Bluetooth Stereo Wireless In-Ear Earphones Review

Up front, I have to say, if you have no patience, don't get these. But if you're willing to give yourself a little bit of a curve to get used to them, they are worth every penny. You'll never give them up.

I've played music all my life, and sound fidelity is important to me.When I first got the ETY 8 earphones as a gift, the form almost overcame the function for me.It took some getting used to the in-ear placement of the earphones - you really have to get them placed deeply into your ear, which felt odd at first, and took some practice to be able to do quickly. Then, there was the sort of odd feel of the two pieces hanging off my ears.Plus, they look a little bit odd.OK, so I got over the oddness. The earphones are actually very light, and once you get used to the feel, you forget they're there.Because they'd been a gift, I kind of felt obligated to use them, so I powered thru the initial getting-used-to it period, and then I started to understand what these earphones are all about.

It's about real sound. Not over-cranked, duded-up bass, but real high fidelity sound. From a wireless earphone, which I didn't expect.I don't know of another pair of earphones that reproduces the original artists' sound with so faithfully. No kidding. It's really different than the deep pulsing bass you get with Bose and many other earphones on the market. You hear the individual instruments, and the color of the sound. And the noise isolation function of this type of in-ear insertion is superior.I can be riding the Muni bus downtown and be in a world of my own.Even on an airplane, the sense of uninterrupted sound clarity is flat out awesome.

If you like driving around in a car with your radio blaring and your bass shaking the drivers around you, these are not the right earphones for you.But if you are a seeker of true high fidelity sound, go for them.
